A Wearable Electricity Generator .

Researchers at North Carolina State University have created a system🤔 that generates electricity via a wearable device – a body-conforming patch. It can generate 20 μW of power per centimetre squared while previous systems generated only 1μW or less. The 2mm thick device consists of a conductive flexible layer worn on the skin & prevents heat from escaping. They now want to embed the system into health tools so that vital signs can be measured without needing a recharge. Daryoosh Vashaee associate professor at NC State Uni said. “The goal of ASSIST is to make wearable technologies that can be used for long-term health monitoring, such as devices that track heart health or monitor physical and environmental variables to predict and prevent asthma attacks.”
